quality are no longer acceptable.

An ancient inscription (IG II2 2311) dated from the
380BC which was discovered in Athens, indicates that during the “Great
Panathenaic” festival , in the athletic games of the 'Stadio” the winner of the
boys “Paides” and the youths “Agenioi” received a prize of 50 and 60 amphorae
of olive oil each. This olive oil came from the sacred olive trees of Athens
and was kept especially for the games.
